Scout Boats’ 261 XSS marks the third new bay boat Scout has introduced in the past six months. This model couples the luxury of a Scout with all the characteristics of a serious fishing machine. The 261 XSS features 100 percent hand-laid construction and completely finished bilges, lids, doors and hatches. Notable features of this inshore-offshore crossover include large casting decks fore and aft, port and starboard baitwells under the transom seats, ample rod storage and a console coffin box. Seats fold out from the aft casting deck, with backrests and cushions. There’s also a powder-coated elite leaning post with a cooler, four rod holders and three cup holders. The fiberglass hardtop features an integrated acrylic windshield. Audiophiles will love the Fusion Bluetooth stereo with six JL Audio speakers. This model features a pocket transom ladder and a built-in synthetic decking step. Options include hull and upholstery color choices; a fiberglass livewell leaning post with two helm seats, tackle storage, rod holders and a Corian countertop; and Scout’s Sport Tower upper station.
